As members of Inscribe each of you is an individual -- you have hopes, dreams, talents, fears.

As your Spiritual Advisor for Inscribe I have written each one of your names on a river rock, so that I may hold you in my hand as I pray for you.

This morning each one of you were prayed for by name. I don't promise that each day, but I do get through the list every week or so individually.
Ever since the call for daily prayer was sent out on ListServe, I have woken every morning with an urgency to pray for InScribe. As well, Bobbi's movement for prayer over word warriors has inspired a persistent nudge to pray for the mission field of writing. It is hard to wrap our heads around the magnificent work of our God, I couldn't fully understand His mightiness if I tried. I do understand though that we are called to pray, so that is what we must do. Thank you to each and everyone of you faithful servants of Christ's message.

Oh Lord, may you watch over your children who write. Guide our pens and all our ways. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen
This week was a time for one of those in my life.

Thinking about many things, like getting vanilla for baking cookies, something I should never run out of as a single item. Perhaps also the mushrooms I shouldn't splurge on to make feta stuffed chicken. The cost of living, how my bank account was in overdraft, the upcoming trial for a sexual assault that I was a witness for, the fact my son doesn't hand in homework, and how lovely the sun was.

A multitude of things swirled in my head, I noted the white dodge ram truck and trailer parked sideways across the stalls in the parking lot. The bright sun above the parking lot light, the spot I wanted to park in as I knew the white truck would have to go around me if I parked there. All these things but I didn't see the red 2013 car that my vehicle decided to collide with. Completely, sadly never saw it.

The last few days have pushed aside my to do lists, my tasks, my thoughts, my prayers. I have been praying for other writers all week. Now I don't even know what to pray in this other new world.

I know I started praying immediately for the other people, for the police, for the insuarancce company, for the doctor, the psyiotherapist, the body shop, the rental car agency. So many people I didn't know before the accident. So many more to pray for, and encourage with gratitude for their help in this accident.

I wrote a note to my insuarance adjuster about his kindness - he wrote back immediately thanking me.

My prayers to write things that impact people for God, they are happening this week. It is through the accident prayers I have been praying and the way God is using my gratitude for His kingdom in this instance I never wanted to go through.

I am not grateful for this accident - but I am grateful for His mercies and the overwhelming abundance of opportunities to use my words correctly and for His glory.

This past week for many of us writers has been one of extremes. Getting things accomplished and going through some very painful moments of life. It could be a bedside vigil, an unexpected operation, a middle of the night phone call, anniversaries of a tragedy or death, a child missing...all are moments of extreme pain.

As we journal, or remember these events in the future how will we allow God to use these moments for His glory.

As a writer, and a therapist I suggest to all who with an active spiritual life that God will allow us to use these trials for the benefit of someone who could be struggling without the same support, depth of spiritual connection or any other combination of life challenges.

My first book, A Simple Spirituality, is the journey of my simple faith through a lifetime of challenges. Most of the challenges are not explicitly named, but I have seen God use this book again and again in dark moments of others lives to encourage them and bring them to a deeper understanding of His presence love and comfort.

Be present in your pain, engage fully God and your human tears, anger, confusion. Let it brew spiritually and ask God how and where it should be used.

Blessings on your journey today.
and proclaim - "I want to start a movement." A chill went up my
spine as she spoke with the authority of echoes of greats from
the past who made proclaimations such as this.

Since that time I have seen a wave of prayer start for the writers
of our nation. It wasn't surprising to me that she spoke of how
we pray for our missionaries, our pastors and many other important
workers in the kingdom, but have neglected our writers.

I believe our writers, poets, songwriter's and artists are
the prophets of this age and the need to pray for them and
their work is at a highpoint in history.
